I saw reflections of the self, in dire need of selfless help,
Yet I provide, beyond belief, no slight relief, I’m dragged through you.
What's being pushed, a narrative, a story I would like to tell,
Confused in motion, wondering, expecting change to befell,
Not only do I feel more lost, need seems to dim the guiding light,
And sparks from green fields lit, seem similar, yet not so bright.
No choice was given right away, just stoplights and sharp turns to take,
And I could just wonder off, and walk until my legs would break,
Sounds may merely guide my thought, engulfing me, if I allow,
And now they rule my selfless state, and I go on anyhow.
They convey no thoughts as I move on,
Cannot resist to be forever pleased,
They convey no pain as I indulge,
Assimilate the lesser state, bring about a better fate.
I can't hold your hand for years, to lead you through a different path,
Despite confirming all great fears, I still remain of help, in act,
I led you through an exodus, yet you can’t find your own Canaan,
Numbing all distress is digging graves for days, with hands in sand.
They convey no thoughts as I move on,
Cannot resist to be forever pleased,
They convey no pain as I indulge,
Assimilate the lesser state, bring about a better fate.
